Maunga Authority - Under legislation passed in 2014, the ownership of 14 of Auckland's maunga including Maungawhau was returned to the 13 iwi/hapū who have historical Treaty claims in Tāmaki Makaurau.

The 14 maunga are now managed by the Maunga Authority
